You may be thinking, this drink isn’t novel, or it sounds too complicated, but I am going to change your mind. This is an elegant drink that is a cocktail party favorite, and made in advance – it is simple for party time. And guess what – you don’t need an espresso machine to make them!
Espresso Martinis are fun cocktails to start the party – realize they are boozy and have caffeine (of course you can make the espresso coffee decaf).
It is best to make your own espresso the day before. Use espresso or any coffee, but it should be bold and strong. Additionally, making it in a French Press provides an intense brew that you can easily increase the amount and time that the brew steeps.
These are great gadgets that can be used for all sorts of beverage preparations, even creating beautiful latte foam! There are many brands of French Presses, but a basic one works well.

- For each drink, add ice to cocktail shaker.
- Pour Kahlua, Espresso Liquid and Vodka in the shaker.
- Shake for several minutes, and pour into martini glass.
A Word About Glassware
The glasses that you use to serve your cocktails are an important part of the experience! There is a reason that bars serve cocktails in different glasses – martini, rocks, highball, wine, etc. Different shaped glasses add a festive flair and arguably, the right glass enhances the flavor!
